Purpose The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the Bank’s business strategy which will include among others corporate banking, small and medium business development, and digital channels growth and management.
Candidate will be responsible for growing bank business within acceptable risk parameters and return on investment, as well as ensuring sustainable business development in line with key stakeholders of the Bank
Role Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the corporate and business banking branches of the Bank located in the coastal region.
  • Staff management, talent retention and productivity enhancement of workforce under supervision.
  • Maximization of branch returns and attainment of positive return on equity/assets for all outlets and products in the coastal region.
  • Attain and sustain high levels of customer service and enhance service experience of clients in the coastal region.
  • Business growth in value and numbers within risk parameters of the bank and within strategic direction of Bank, including regional business development aimed at the East African region and trade finance.
  • Liability management and growth of deposits within targeted product concentration and acceptable cost structures.
  • Credit portfolio management to attain targeted profitability and risk ratios.
  • Competitor analysis and strategy, environmental assessment, budgeting and forecasting in line with macroeconomic environment for the region.
Qualifications
  • University Degree in a business related field. A post graduate degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years banking experience with at least 5 years’ experience in Corporate and SME sectors.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Tangible experience in the Coast Region
Competencies
  • Customer Service, commercial and product development functions at a management level
  • Demonstrated consistent high performance in role(s) held in the last three years in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to network, generate new business and develop strong business relations.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated competences in championing high performance management.
  • Strong understanding and experience in the Coastal Region.
  • A good understanding of risk, credit policies and procedures.
  • A change agent able to drive growth while motivating staff.
